Stephan Brauchli and his cat Tsonga

Stephan Brauchli is a passionate self-taught photographer living in Zurich, Switzerland with a deep empathy for the natural world. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. After his studies, Stephan started a job with an information technology consultancy in the United States. In 2006 he moved back to Switzerland where he had grown up. Stephan Brauchli now works at a Swiss private bank in IT as well as a freelance photographer. Stephan’s photographic adventure started in 1998 with nude photography. Since then he has also become fond of wildlife and travel photography and has been traveling as much as he can given his full time job. His favorite destinations so far include Myanmar, Madagascar, Namibia, Iceland, Greenland and Antarctica. Stephan started experimenting with abstract smoke photography in the late 1990s and is still fascinated by the surreal images it yields.
